Thème de recherche

V.Kovess Masfety est psychiatre et épidémiologiste. Elle a fait ses études de médecine en France et complété sa formation à l’université McGill (Canada) où elle est professeure associée puis de retour en France obtenu un doctorat en sciences et une HDR. Elle a créé et dirigé une unité de recherche (EA 4069 « Épidémiologie , Évaluation et politiques de santé ») à l’Université Paris Descartes ainsi que la Fondation d’Entreprise de la Mutuelle Générale de l’Éducation Nationale (MGEN) pour la santé publique . Elle a été la directrice du département d’épidémiologie et de bio statistiques de l’école des hautes études en santé publique (EHESP) où elle est professeur honoraire. Elle a travaillé sur diverses enquêtes de santé mentale d’abord au Canada puis sur des populations adultes en Île de France et dans plusieurs régions et sur des populations en difficulté sociale dont les sans abris à Paris . Elle a aussi conduit des enquêtes sur les jeunes enfants  à partir des écoles primaires en Région Paca  et dans plusieurs pays européens. Elle a par ailleurs travaillé sur l’utilisation des services pour les problèmes de santé mentale et tout particulièrement les différences d’accès entre hommes et femmes ainsi que la consommation de psychotropes ,y compris chez les enfants, en France et en Europe. Elle est l’auteure de nombreuses publications internationales et l’éditeur d’une revue internationale sur l’épidémiologie psychiatrique  (SPPE) ; elle a été jusque récemment la présidente de la section épidémiologie santé publique de l’association mondiale de psychiatrie et assure celle de l’APAQESM qui a pour objet la qualité des soins en psychiatrie avec un intérêt spécifique quant au rôle de l’architecture dans cette discipline. Elle a été la présidente du comité évaluation prospective au haut conseil à la santé publique (HCSP) et a présidé l’évaluation du plan psychiatrie santé mentale 2011-2015. Elle a conduit avec M.Villani un programme de recherche de trois ans, sous l’égide de la fondation Deniker sur « Mieux vivre sa schizophrénie ».

 

Responsabilités actuelles

A l’heure actuelle, V.Kovess Masfety est toujours un professeure associée à l’Université McGill à Montréal dans le département de psychiatrie , elle a récemment conduit deux enquêtes épidémiologiques sur la santé mentale des populations d’Afghanistan dont une partie dédiée aux enfants et une enquête en Géorgie où elle a un rôle de conseil sur l’organisation des soins en psychiatrie. Elle est aussi conseiller psychiatrie à la Cour de Comptes qui prépare un rapport sur le financement de la psychiatrie et fait partie du comité scientifique qui supervise l’évaluation de l’ expérience conduite par la CNAM sur le financement de psychothérapies faites par les psychologues.
